Epic Games, Inc. is an American video game and software developer and publisher based in Cary, North Carolina. The company was founded in 1991 by Tim Sweeney. Epic Games developed the Unreal Engine, a commercially available game engine that also powers its internally developed video games, such as Fortnite and the Unreal and Gears of War series. Opera is a multinational technology corporation headquartered in Oslo, Norway, that develops a range of products including web browsers for PC and mobile devices, the GameMaker platform, the Opera News content recommendation service, and the Opera Ads platform. The company, which has a user base of 296 million monthly active users, was founded in 1995 and released its first web browser in 1996. Opera Limited became a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ stock exchange in July 2018. The company is majority-owned and controlled by the Chinese firm Kunlun Tech Co., Ltd., with its chair and CEO being Zhou Yahui, the controlling shareholder of Kunlun.
