Confluent, Inc. is an American technology company that provides a data streaming platform based on the open-source Apache Kafka project. Founded in 2014 by the original creators of Kafka, the company commercializes the technology with products including Confluent Platform, Confluent Cloud, and a suite of stream governance tools. Epic Games developed the Unreal Engine, a commercially available game engine that also powers its internally developed video games, such as Fortnite and the Unreal and Gears of War series. In 2014, Unreal Engine was named the most successful videogame engine by Guinness World Records. The company owns game developers Psyonix, Mediatonic, and Harmonix. Epic Games has recently been involved in negotiations with Google concerning a partnership.
